I felt like to make this. Some people said that watermark ruins the picture or it's annoying, because it's in the middle of art and they can't see it well..

Honestly... the watermark is half transparent, if you try, you can see the picture well. And using watermarks is good, because it deters potential thieves more than just a tiny link in the corner where it's easier removable and so easier to steal...

True is that sometime even watermarks won't help, because people can just redraw it with their crappy way or they just draw the picture again by their own hand according to your art and so no need to mess up with watermarks.. but still in more cases it helps than not...

Watermark is in the middle or around main parts because those parts would be used the most in stolen work, so stop being mad about that it interferes in the main parts. It's supposed to work like that! To protect...

If you still dislike it, it's ok, i respect other's opinions, too... but... after your work will be stolen many times, i bet you'll start to use watermark happily...as i did =.=" even i hate the fact it ruins the pic, too...but i care about the protection more...

Unless a watermark is too obvious and covers essential elements of a picture, any determined thief could easily edit it out or crop it. Provided they even care the most irritating art thief on DA is somebody so obvius his front page and the comment section are flooded with angry complainers, even though the works he's stealing are not watermarked. But that's not the reason why he's still at large, that would be because the staff just ignores him and the daily reports he's getting. So really, bottom line is, a watermark won't help you protect anything other than your confidence.

there is only 32 comments where only a few of those are from people that disagree with it... what is this against 131 who faved it and so agree with it? Think a bit bro

Right. The dreaded silent majority.

There are specifically 5 people, myself included who share the same oppinion.
There are also 6 people who agree with you - quite coincidentally, at least two of them can't even draw the basic human figure.
There are five more people who are more neutral, but gravitate towards my side of the fence.

Also the number of faves are non indicative, as there's no way of telling how many people disagreed but didn't leave a comment.

A big, ugly, exaggerative watermark slapped on bad place can ruin a picture but I seriously don't get the negative attitudes toward watermarking. A logo in one corner or watermark so subtle you can hardly notice it shouldn't really be a problem (they can actually look pretty nice even!), especially when there seems to be more and more art thieves running around every passing minute.

I find them annoying ocassionally, but yea I understand why people use them, especially if they've had art stolen from them before. So it makes sense.
